alrighty… here’s the redo… but I mostly spent time thinking rather than drawing. Someone on devart requested I make it with a norwegian and an angry korean lady. As you can tell, I have a very poor looking/barely passing korean guy and no norwegian. I’ll fix that next week. It was fun enough to add what I did. Do you like the red blood? Should I keep this one black and white?
Famous socks, Wed – Thurs February 24, 2006
Yeah, ouch. Forgot. ’scuse me *shuffles around his bag of goodies* *produces some ill-art*
There ya goes.
The first one illustrates how socks can be used for rubbing kitty bellies without getting scratched… it also illustrates the fatal flaw in being ambiguous with the term ‘kitty’.
The second one shows an elusive toe sock, this one particular species being fond of smelly toenails. We see the trapper has positioned a laundry basket above the poor beast’s bait. One could only know what will happen next, but because of hunters continually stressing the population for more pelts of this noble bedroom inhabitant, we may not see them for much longer.
Plans February 15, 2006
Okay… that was a fast hiatus, no? Actually… not done yet. Tomorrow will be my last truly difficult exam. After that, I’ll push forward with the lion paintin’ some more. As well, I plan that next week will be my official sock week. Basically, I’ll go through the various weapons and creatures that socks can/will be currently and in the near future. No… it’s not going to be serious. I’ll do one sketch a day, as before, but after the sketch, the following week I’ll up the anty on each with odd methods and prehaps show more mechanics behind how I draw (as we all are dying to know… right? *crickets*)
bah… February 7, 2006
haitus stamp, go.
I’ll be putting this place to rest while I deal with exams for this month (about five or so). That said, my drawing is a constant way of rest and relief, so I’m sure I’ll have something to show of it. OH! and I’ll be scanning stuff into devart pretty soon. I’ll keep ya’ll posted… must prrrrogram… lots… now.
Super duper experiment (expire-ment?) time… February 3, 2006
So… my plans are this. Finish something silly, then totally go back, rework and overall some of my methodologies. I want to get really good at a style I haven’t even attempted yet: diving and painting… starting with an initial background, then doing the top most layer followed by the next down… very counter-intuitive and very hard. But if you’re slow, it works nicely, I’m guessing. Either way, I’ve tried a different way of producing waves than how I did it in my last drawing (I tried implementing both color and contrasts on the same layer)… I think it isn’t as good, but you can judge it yourselves if you like. I’m currently working at adding a crew:
Paintchat or bust… February 1, 2006
Well… I had a good session of paint chat last night… but sad to say… I totally completely forgot to grab images from the session. *shrug* Just imagine a dude walking around glowing mushrooms and you’ll get a decent idea of what I drew. Ok… minus the smoking that I’m sure you’ll be thinking of too… and the needles. There weren’t any needles. Okay… I give up… it’d be messed up to assume any of you could imagine it fairly without some sort of fear or worry on mind. I’ll just try to make it up to ya’ll with a better post tonight after juggling. (I’m going to try to scan some stuff from my notebook and paste em here)
