Research a-comin’ November 29, 2005

Grrr. Well, while I don’t have any sketches (dang) I do have some news.

I’m sending in my McNair Scholars application on Wed. What the heck is that, you ask? Boiled down, it means I can do research while being an undergrad. Which rules. Because I’ll get published (assuming I don’t fart around too much… which is a big assumption).

That all said, this also goes to imply that I’ve been too busy today with pulling my hair out to draw anything (shucks). Well, No worries, folks. I’ll be back to sketchidi-doo-goodness soon enough. I really guess there aren’t that many folks, but heck, I’m sure at least one person is entertained *cough*ME*cough*

Have a good one, and I’m pretty much ready to do my review on paint.net (though it isn’t pretty, it’s still lovable). You don’t have to stay tuned, but if you do, I might draw you a cookie

Coming along with stuff November 28, 2005

Okay. I guess word press decided to keep my pics this time. So, I’ll be continuing with our program starting tomorrow. I’ll try to make up for the lull with some really good stuff, but no promises. I at least have a great vector art frog coming along (ok, not great, but good enough).

Reposts and groans November 23, 2005

Okay then… I reposted images. Hopefully wordpress will behave.

As for the lion thing.. don’t worry, it’s coming along. I want to put more color on it before I post another quick preview of it. As well, I’m going to be working on a more busy image in GIMP, and I’m probably going to do another thing in painter elements.

OOh OOH! I thawt I thaw a new paint program! That’s right folks… I got another couple of reviews coming up for paint.net and opencanvas. Insane. And no, not the recent opencanvas… the freeware one that actually has connectivity stuff goin on… teh schweet.

Give me a bit to find a link for both of those programs. I don’t want to release a review of anything that’s downloadable without a link… I mean. I want peeps to see for themselves.

Yet another image sacking… November 17, 2005

Well then.

My images got sacked by the server again… and that means I might have to sack those who sacked the images. But then they’ll probably argue that those who want to sack those who sack posts should also be sacked.

All this, and I didn’t even mention a moose.

Well… the joke aside, I’m frustrated here. I’ll try to keep an image up for a couple more days. If this issue persists, I’ll just find another blog *grimace*

I mean, I hate to make anyone who’s looking at this blog move to another. It’s frustrating enough that there’s a huge number of these things and all the nuttiness that’s already here. Heck… I might call it quits instead. We’ll see. For now, I do have some stuff on deviantart. Yeah… everyone go ‘wow’

And yes… I do like the drawing of gaara eating curry and freaking out.

GREAT SPIT!

There’s so much to do tonight I might not get around to sketching! I have to do juggling tonight on top of web design and a friend of mine is demanding their rights to a free reflexology treatment because

1. I’m a nice guy (I am?)
2. Apparently we’re friends
3. I somehow am ‘decent’ at reflexology *grimaces*

What the! Well, I didn’t sign up for all of this, before you ask. People are just mean to me and make me do nice things for them. Bah!

Sketchin’ like nutz November 16, 2005

Well, I admit… I was paintchatting instead of hitting up my new sketch project. I’ll just post some sketches in my older linup along with a sample from paint chat and call it a night. No point staying up too late when I have diff eq. classes tomorrow morn. Give me a sec to dig something up *rummages*

I should be sleeping: The story of my life November 15, 2005

Well then. I should be sleeping. Instead, I thought I’d start an evil teaser thing here. I decided I would base a sketch off a dream I had a couple months ago (yea… let’s just say that it stuck with me) of a lion dying and giving up his ghost. That’s all I’ll tell you of the dream for now… that progresses with the drawing/sketch. I have no idea if I’ll go as far as coloring, but I want to. Yet again, this is all done with my wacom tablet and GIMP (I’ll set up categories and all so that pretty soon I won’t have to keep telling you what medium I’m in with each sketch). Here’s a fraction of what will be the whole image (1600×1200). It may stay black and white for a little while, but I’ll try to keep getting it more and more enhanced and good looking. I think it’ll only take 3 more days to finish, to be honest… but I want to savor my first time drawing a humanoid-esque lion. I mean, seriously, just tonight I made so much progress in an hour that I’m shivering. So, anyways, it still kinda is sketchy and cruddy… but you can hopefully get an idea of how this will look in the end:

And yes… the full 1600×1200 wall paper will be freely posted on here, assuming that wordpress allows for the full thing. And I’ll also submit the xcf file so you can look at all the coloring and shading layers I used in GIMP and critique as you like.

Not exactly sketching, but… November 15, 2005

I just composed a really relaxing number. I dunno. Perhaps it’s someone’s style or perhaps it’s not. I just am in the habit of posting a bit of media before I sleep, so I decided that one of my compos isn’t too bad of a way to end the day. Very atmospheric, I call it Pouring

Not really too terribly great or long or talented, it’s still something I enjoy, so I gotta get a release out of composing music once in a while. It sorta saps my ability to write coherently, however. I’m sure that’s all too apparent.
